NCLEX Theory Review

Aceso’s NCLEX Theory Review covers content to help prepare you for passing the NCLEX-RN or NCLEX-PN exam, which is required for nursing licensure. This course reviews the material of the NCLEX exam to make sure you’re equipped with the information you need for test day.

What’s the NCLEX?

NCLEX stands for National Council Licensure Examination, and it’s administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. The NCLEX is a national nurse licensure exam that evaluates nursing candidates’ fundamental knowledge to ensure they’re qualified to work in health care facilities.

Why You Need NCLEX

Passing the NCLEX is required in all 50 states to become a licensed nurse, so it’s pivotal in your nursing career. Each state has the same standards for passing the exam, which is graded pass-fail. Aceso’s NCLEX Theory Review can help aspiring nurses in every state better prepare for the exam. Some states may have other licensing requirements beyond the NCLEX. Requirements vary by state, so contact your local Board of Nursing to ensure you complete each step of the licensure process.

Two NCLEX Exams

Before taking the NCLEX, you must complete required nursing education. Aspiring registered nurses must earn their Associate Degree in Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and aspiring licensed practical nurses must complete an approved licensed practical nursing program. The NCLEX-RN tests RN candidates, while the NCLEX-PN evaluates PN candidates. The two tests are similar but have key differences based on the differences in the two nursing roles.

What’s Included?

NCLEX preparation begins with knowing what to expect on the exam. Aceso’s NCLEX Theory Review covers exam expectations, which include:

  • Management of care
  • Pharmacological and parenteral therapies
  • Physiological adaptation
  • Reduction of risk potential
  • Safety and infection control
  • Basic care and comfort
  • Psychosocial integrity
  • Health promotion and maintenance

Content distribution varies because the NCLEX adapts to your performance.

Maximize NCLEX Preparation

Maximize your NCLEX preparation with Aceso’s NCLEX Theory Review for practical nursing and registered nursing. Preparing for the NCLEX exam should be taken seriously as it’s not a simple test. It’s a comprehensive exam that thoroughly tests your nursing knowledge and assessment skills. You must be able to integrate nursing theory with the needs of your patients.

The NCLEX utilizes computerized adaptive testing, so questions are tailored to your aptitudes and determine the scoring process. When the computer analysis system reaches 95% certainty, it stops asking questions and presents you with a pass or fail grade.

Your nursing school instructors prepare you for the NCLEX, but it’s strongly recommended to utilize an additional post-school program to better prepare for the exam. Aceso’s NCLEX Theory Review is a four-day review class that teaches you important information and valuable techniques to help you succeed on your NCLEX. However, it doesn’t satisfy the requirements of remediation mandated by the Florida Board of Nursing.
